Michał Jaros

double bass player, graduate of the Jazz Department and Post-Secondary Jazz Study at the Secondary State Music School Complex of F. Chopin in Warsaw, and the Department of Jazz and Popular Music of the Academy of Music. K. Szymanowski in Katowice.

In 1996, at the Jazz nad Odrą festival, he received the Grand Prix. In 2002, together with P. Kaczmarczyk and P. Dobrowolski, he received the 1st prize in the Jazz Juniors competition in Krakow. In 2003, he won the Grand Prix in the Hot Jazz Spring traditional jazz competition in Częstochowa (the Swinging Raven statuette). In 2009, he was a laureate of the Polish Radio Folk Festival. He has performed with leading musicians of the Polish and foreign jazz scene, such as: Ishmael Wadada Leo Smith, Ronnie Cuber, Judy Bady, David Linx, Patricia Barber, Jerome Sabbagh, Maciej Obara, Janusz Muniak, Zbigniew Namysłowski, Piotr Wojtasik, Maciej Sikała, Krzysia Górniak.
